Our Staff

Sunset Coop teachers strive to provide an enriched, nurturing learning environment. Evelyn and Jana have many years experience teaching young children and preparing them to move forward with confidence into kindergarten and beyond.

Evelyn has been a preschool teacher in the BCC program for eight years, and has over 10 years experience as a nanny as well as a mother of one child. Evelyn has been working on her Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Ed. at BCC. She is also substitute teacher's assistant at Eton Montessori in Bellevue, Washington.

Her educational philosophy is children learn best through doing. Learning is messy. Parental involvement is crucial in children's education.

Susan has been teaching in the Bellevue College program for one year and is a former preschool teacher and program director with KinderCare in Issaquah.  She was also a parent in the Sunset Coop program for the last two years with her youngest daughter.  Susan has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from University of Washington as well
as a Child Development credential (CDA).

In addition to teaching at Sunset Coop, Susan teaches for another Bellevue College program called Discovery Lab, a science based program for 5-7 year olds.  Susan is married with three kids – one in college, one in high school and one in kindergarten.
